Heat: 8 out of possible 10. A step up from the regular Pappy's XXX White Lightnin' (step...hell, more like 3 giant leaps up the food chain), this is a great BBQ sauce for those who like it hot. Like our original Pappy's sauce, this is a great blend of tomatoes, vinegar, brown sugar, and spices. It's very good, but definitely not for the timid. Pappy's Moonshine Madness was honored with the 2002 Best Package Award for BBQ from the National Barbecue Association (NBBQA).

We're sure some chile heads will scoff that "this ain't hot". That's fine -- keep in mind that these are the same folks that think battery acid is a culinary treat. Each batch has just a little hooch to make it tasty, and a little "Madness" just to be cruel to sissies. If you can stand the heat, cook with it. If not, leave it the hell alone!
